The Center for Servant Leadership

The Center for Servant Leadership is dedicated to disseminating and implementing the principles of servant leadership across a broad array of organizations who seek to become more effective in mobilizing their people to fulfill a compelling vision.

What is servant leadership? By placing the legitimate needs of others above their own self-interest, servant leaders are committed to enhancing organizational health through sharing leadership, building community, and developing people. Servant leaders prefer persuasion over coercion, and treat others as partners who are granted decision-making authority in order to serve others more effectively. They also recognize that their own character plays a vital role in determining the success of their organization and thus highly value honesty, integrity, authenticity, and accountability.
