Be the light & hope in someone's darkness.

"If you...take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness..." ~ Isaiah 58:10 NCV

Hope

Sometimes hope is just a whisper that says, Don’t give up yet.

Hope can be a hard thing for people that have been through a lot, because sometimes hoping means that they have to open themselves up at the risk of getting hurt again.

When someone enters therapy, they can allow a therapist to hold that hope for them and say, “I’ll hold this, even if you can’t.”

When this happens, we see a beginning of being able to heal.

We watch as, with small steps, people begin to say, “I’ve seen more hope today,” and our therapists get to hand some of that hope back to them, little by little.

A lot of people come in feeling some degree of hopelessness, but with small steps, big things happen:

  • Marriages restored when they felt like it was beyond help.
  • Children making friends and doing things they never imagined they could do, maybe because they had dealt with a lot of anxiety or have stress at home.
  • People with severe mental health conditions reaching their dreams, perhaps in ways people have told them they wouldn’t or they didn’t think they could themselves.

When hope is sometimes just that little whisper, it’s the first step that gets people to the place where big things can happen. Therapy can be a part of that.

Help someone hope today.

Ways to Support the Center

Continuing support is vital to the important work of the Center.  There are a number of different ways for you to give a gift and contribute to this life-changing ministry.

As a not-for-profit organization, Chicago Christian Counseling Center reaches out to people who are in pain, wanting to serve all who come our way, even if they cannot pay the complete fee. Assistance will be provided based on available funding.

We have created a STEPHEN Fund to help those who cannot pay. It is supported by your donations to our ministry, along with special offerings and benevolence gifts from churches. The STEPHEN Fund helps cover the costs for hurting people in our communities. With your support, we are able to continue this critical care.
